Early treatment may help to correct smaller problems before they become more serious, eliminating or simplifying later treatment. Problems that may be best treated early include early loss of baby teeth, crowding, protruding front teeth, underbite, facial asymmetry, habits such as finger sucking and mouth-breathing/snoring.
At St Kilda Orthodontics, our orthodontist will help to find the most suitable treatment option for your teenager. Popular treatment options for teenagers include conventional braces and clear aligners. The most common age to receive orthodontic treatment is between 12 and 15.
It is never too late to have teeth straightened. At St Kilda Orthodontics, we work with many adult patients who are looking to enhance their smile and function of their teeth. There are a number of aesthetically-pleasing and lifestyle-friendly options that are available to adults including Invisalign clear aligners and ceramic braces.
At St Kilda Orthodontics, we provide different types of braces. Metal braces are a great option for those looking for a tried-and-tested, cost-effective option. Alternatively, clear ceramic braces are suitable for patients who are looking for a more discreet way to straighten their teeth.
Our orthodontist has a special interest in Clear Aligner Therapy and has provided lectures on this area to dental students at the University of Melbourne. We offer a broad range of Clear Aligner systems including Invisalign, AngelAligner and Spark. Clear Aligners have the advantage of being clear and therefore being hard to see, removable, more comfortable, and easier to keep your teeth clean.
Surgical Orthodontic Treatment, otherwise known as jaw surgery, is a procedure that can be carried out for severely misaligned jaws. Treatment is planned digitally using the latest technology, meaning that patients can view their treatment simulations before commencing treatment and enjoy predictable outcomes.
